South Lake Tahoe 2026

My husband and I had such a great weekend last year on our Romantic Weekend Getaway – South Lake Tahoe that we scheduled a repeat. We stayed at a different hotel, kept our activities super low-key, and soaked in some much needed relaxation!

Day 1: arrive at The Landing resort, check out the private beach (Lakeside Beach), lounge and chat on the restaurant patio, dinner at Toulouse (crispy brussel sprouts, salmon, pistachio cheesecake), sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy live music during dinner, watch the sunset at Lakeside Beach, watch Enola Holmes on Netflix

access to Lakeside Beach was included with our hotel room – otherwise, it’s $30 per adult 😳
Tahoe tap water is some of the best in the world – The Landing restaurant patio has a view of the lake – the weather was perfect!
Fun Fact: my husband and I were married in December – way too close to Christmas and we never celebrate our anniversary. We decided to celebrate a fake anniversary in September! My husband ordered flowers and chocolate covered strawberries for the room. ❤️

Day 2: brunch at Elements Eatery (tamale Benedict, avocado toast, pretty cold pressed juice, coffee, chai), shop at Grocery Outlet and Ross, wings festival at Heavenly Village, enjoy more live music, read my book on the balcony and enjoy more live music while my hubs takes a nap, lounge at Lakeside Beach together, walk 20 minutes to dinner at Base Camp (Caesar salad, cheesy garlic bread, BBQ chicken pizza), watch Enola Holmes 2 & 3 on Netflix

Lakeside Beach – the water was way too cold for me to swim!

Day 3: brunch at The Landing (American breakfast, avocado toast, orange juice), drive home

We had a beautiful weekend enjoying each other’s company and feeling a little more like ourselves and a little less like frazzled parents!

    1. I’m writing up a post on it! I enjoyed it. A fairytale set in China with Chinese folktales woven throughout the overarching story. Main themes of thankfulness, gratitude, contentment, and bravery. I’m going to read it aloud at some point. Obvi some non-Christian false gods and magic involved but it was a delightful fairytale.

  1. I’m glad y’all had a relaxing weekend. Thanks for the reminder – I still need to watch Enola Holmes 3.

My husband and I are the opposite. We originally married on September 20th but celebrate on December 23rd. (We almost divorced 4 years in. When we decided to work things out, we renewed our vows on Christmas Eve. However, Christmas Eve is always busy so we celebrate on December 23rd.)

    1. We enjoyed the Enola Holmes trilogy! I think you’ll like the 3rd installment.

I’m so glad you worked it out! 🩷 I think you two make such a great couple! 💕 We can trade dates, I’ll take 9/20 and you can have 12/28! 😂
