Our visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium was somewhat disappointing. Many of the live exhibits they have had in the past had been removed. A lot of virtual exhibits had been added. I’m sure this is better for the animals but the experience wasn’t what it once was. It was still enjoyable, but it would have been better if our expectations weren’t so high.
I enjoyed the art made out of garbage.

We all enjoyed the puffin and sea otter feedings. The aquarium felt quite crowded for a Thursday. Watching the animals isn’t quite as much fun when you’re being squashed by strangers. 🤷🏻♀️

C’est la vie!
Too bad they aren’t doing many live exhibits anymore. Still, that art exhibit looks cool!

They still have live exhibits, just not as many as they used to. 🤷🏻♀️

I wonder why they don’t have as many life exhibits as before. That would definitely be disappointing, especially since you had seen it before with many more. Makes me curious…

I think they had gotten a lot of criticism because on the one hand they’re promoting the health and safety of Marine life and then on the other hand, they’re putting animals in teeny tiny cages for entertainment. I get it. It does seem a bit hypocritical.

I see that point, for sure. We want to see them but is it best for them. Big question.
