Lizards brumate, kind of like hibernating for reptiles. We think Dart is doing that…although reptiles in captivity don’t do that usually. It’s our first winter with Dart and we’re trying to figure out how to keep him comfortable and happy. He is definitely less active.

My oldest took the photo of the banana slug at MacKerricher State Park, near Fort Bragg, CA.
Now that you mention it, we haven’t seen any lizards since the weather turned cool. Do lizards hibernate for the winter? I’ll have to look into that…
