2-Day, 3-Night RV Meal Plan

We eat really simple food when we go camping with our travel trailer. Here’s what we brought with us on a recent 2-day/3-night weekend getaway to Yellowstone National Park.

Just in case you don’t need help meal planning, and you are already done reading this post, let me give you my #1 tip for cooking while camping:

Prep absolutely everything you possibly can ahead of time. Absolutely everything possible. Cut up, grate, shred and measure anything you can in the comfort of your home kitchen, the more you can do ahead of time, the more relaxing your camping trip will be!

Breakfast:

Lunch:

Dinner:

  • Hot dogs and buns and condiments
  • One can of chili & one can of black beans mixed together
  • bagged salad mix
  • Spaghetti and a jar of marinara sauce
  • French bread

Snacks/Desserts

  • S’mores supplies
  • Hot cocoa
  • Chocolate chip cookies
  • Microwave popcorn
  • Sodas/juice boxes/bottled water
  • Single serve hummus
  • Lara bars
  • Fig bars
  • Dried fruit
  • Trail mix

Unfortunately, my meal planning didn’t quite work out as well as I had hoped. We had spaghetti the first night, roasted hotdogs over the campfire the second night, and then we were supposed to have hotdogs again on the third night. It had rained/snowed all day and it was still raining when we finished our day of exploring, so on the last night, we went out for pizza at a nearby restaurant. 🍕

🏕 What’s your favorite camping food?

  1. We go for easy, too. Before a trip, Dan always makes a big batch of spaghetti. So on travel days, we just heat this up, add a salad or peaches, and that’s our dinner.

  2. It’s so good you had a meal planned out for your camping trip. Some serious planning, but I like how you stayed flexible and went with the flow. Great job, mama! Making wonderful memories with the family. Stay safe out there. 🙂
