Today we are leaving Bend-Sunriver RV Campground and headed East. Lake Siskiyou is a tough act to follow. There are no sewer hookups here. That’s bad. We shortened our stay from 3 weeks to one because it’s just too inconvenient for us. Kudos to everyone who boondocks! We packed in some fun activities and hikes this past week…
Newberry National Volcanic Monument
It felt a lot like camping here, it was nice to be nestled in the pine trees. We frequently saw the cutest wild bunnies in the meadow.
Deer came to eat right next to our RV spot.
The pool was slightly heated and we had one day with okay swimming weather.
It was still pretty chilly. We didn’t swim very long before teeth were chattering.
We couldn’t resist making s’more s’mores since we had a nice fire pit. This time we tried chocolate graham crackers and regular graham crackers with Hershey’s chocolate.
The kiddos built a lean-to with fallen branches. I’ll count that as history/wilderness skills class.
We’ve been having fun shopping at Goodwill every time we’re headed to a new location. I usually let the kids each pick a new book and a new DVD. The Goodwill in Bend had a huge selection of board games, and I was so excited to find “Clue Jr., Pictionary Jr., and Charades for kids for only $2.99 each.
The kiddos have been having lots of fun playing board games lately. I’m always on the lookout for new ideas…
🎲 What’s your favorite board game?
I love ‘Apples to Apples!’
