Any given (summer) Thursday…
7:00 AM alarm, drag myself awake, shower, get dressed
8:15 AM leave for mammogram appointment
9:01 AM check in and sit in waiting room, open Bible app to catch up on reading plan – I just started Isaiah
9:19 AM done with mammogram – fairly quick and easy (had barely started reading Isaiah when they called me back), I like the mammography technologist, Susan, we talked sourdough the entire appointment
Head to TJ Maxx to do a little birthday shopping for my mom while I’m “in town”
Buy some groceries at Walmart
Drive home, try to call my mom – no answer, call my dad and chat for an hour
Put the groceries away
Eat 2 mini croissants with Egg-less Vegan Tofu Salad and a slice of leftover pizza for lunch
Give my husband a hug and show him my new purse – I hope this one works out better than the last one…

Tell tween/teen to do the dishes and clean up after themselves in the kitchen while I open and sort through 3 games I bought at Goodwill and take price stickers off of the gifts for my mom

Switch laundry, fold linens & put them away
Take some photos for Favorite Things: Back-To-HomeSchool Edition 2026 blog and post it
Wrap a birthday gift for my daughter
Ask my daughter to try and fix my glasses frames, she glued them together a few weeks ago but they are coming apart again
2:14 … totally forgot about this post until now… better catch up…
Call a new dentist to set up new patient appointments for everyone in my family. I feel like I really should’ve done this earlier when I find out we can’t get our cleanings scheduled until March and we were due for cleanings in July. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
🙏 …pray that no one‘s teeth fall out…
Check laundry, not quite dry
Realize I forgot to water the trees today 🤦🏻♀️ leaving first thing in the morning for the mammogram really threw off my routine
Eat a handful of roasted unsalted cashews
…think about reading those chapters of Isaiah that I started this morning…
Switch laundry, fold blanket & put it away
Go outside for some fresh air, even though it’s a little too hot, and listen to the devotional that wouldn’t load this morning at the imaging center

4:21 Think about making dinner, text my husband to see when he’ll be done with work
Eat a handful of dried wild blueberries
start loading the dishwasher, make dinner with my husband – this totally counts as a date right!?!
Eat dinner – homemade double decker tacos (my favorite), clean up dinner, set dishwasher on a 1 hour delay, tell tween/teen to shower
Send my husband on an errand to buy our daughter’s birthday balloons
Wipe off the bathroom counter
Answer phone call from my husband – store is out of helium. 🤦🏻♀️ Call another store – they’re out too. 🤦🏻♀️ He’s got one more store to try 🤞
Finish one day of my Bible reading plan with a lemonade

Receive text from husband – he got the balloons!
7:00 PM read aloud The Tale of Benjamin Bunny by Beatrix Potter, my two youngest kiddos are making a series on iMovie and we watched the latest episode, read aloud the next devotional in Marvel At the Moon by Levi Lusko, read aloud 2 poems in Poetry for Young People: Edna St. Vincent Millay, listen to the next chapter of The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle on Audible, work on an old school embroidery floss friendship bracelet, read aloud next chapter of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Bedtime prayers and send the tween/teens to bed (they journal and read in the evenings), listen to I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916 by Lauren Tarshis with my youngest son
Read another day’s assignment in my Bible reading plan – I’m now only 10 days behind schedule
Watch an episode of Musketeers by BBC with my husband (the 2nd season is darker and less clean than the 1st season)
The power goes out, apparently there was a planned outage they didn’t inform us of, we plug the fridge into an external battery just in case it’s out all night
11:28 PM Go to bed 💤
The idea for this post came from Hearth Ridge Reflections. 💖

A very full day, indeed! Looks like this will be a treasured post in years to come, when you can’t quite remember how very busy you were all the time.
