Favorite Things for Autumn 2026

Hello friends, and happy autumn season to you! Here are a few of my favorite things right now.

Our current listen-aloud together book on Audible is Greyfriars Bobby* (book club/matinee post coming soon…).
This book is perfect for October! It’s set during Victorian times, but since it wasn’t published during the Victorian era, it doesn’t count as a Victober book. Most of the story takes place in Greyfriars Kirkyard, a churchyard and cemetery, but it isn’t spooky or scary. It’s simply the perfect setting for an October read! There’s quite a bit of Scottish dialect in the book, and some of it is very difficult to understand. I’m really glad we’re listening to it on audiobook because there’s no way I could read it aloud!
Welcome to our front porch! I recently found the autumnal doormat at Grocery Outlet, the tri-colored mums are from Trader Joe’s, and my eldest son found the woodpecker door knocker at Goodwill several years ago.

Isaiah 40:26: “Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things.”
Cooler weather calls for cozying up with a good book – these gorgeous bookmarks from singlikewildflowers.com (a souvenir from Korea) are almost too beautiful and delicate to use.
These adorable desk lamps* were also gifts from singlikewildflowers.com.
They are perfect for the darker days of winter coming soon! So cute & cozy!
Peanut butter cup cookies made & photographed by my daughter (age 14); recipe from The Trouble With Heroes page 152.
This candle was stashed in my China cabinet I don’t remember when/where I bought it; I just know that it smells delicious! link to purchase on Amazon
