Ah the sweet comfort of following specific instructions to complete a project from start to finish. Soothing balm to my overwhelmed, frazzled, and stressed brain.
My mom chose Sunny Sunflower Block on page 66 for May 2026.

I made three of these blocks.
One inspired by the evening primrose around our houseβ¦

One inspired by the globemallow around our houseβ¦

And one inspired by sunflowers! π»

Iβm still working on getting my pattern/color combinations right. They always look different in my head. I never quite love them when theyβre finished.
My mom made two as usual.

Lori Holtβs pattern has a lot of wasted fabric and my mom devised a system to save some of the leftover as half square triangles (HST). Now, what to do with all these random extra HSTs?

Next up, my daughter chose Fresh Pears Block on page 32 for June.
I love them all!!! πβ₯οΈ

I love all your squares! Also, I like how you and your mom came up with something to not waste fabric. I haven’t ever done any quilting, but you make it look tempting!

I sure enjoy seeing your quilt blocks. Your mom came up with a darling way to use HST. When you turn those blocks around, they look like tulips to me. π
