The Let Them Theory

“The Let Them Theory: A Life-Changing Tool That Millions of People Can’t Stop Talking About” by Mel Robbins

Book #3 for 2026

This was an impromptu read, spurred by my BFF who lives in Washington state. She texted me and asked me if I had read the book and if I would like to read it with her, “book club style”. Of course, I was ecstatic to do an “across the miles book club” with her and I purchased it immediately. I then moved the book to the top of my TBR list and put the other two books I was reading on the back-burner.

Someone recently told me that homeschoolers are notoriously flaky because they are used to having so much flexibility and freedom that they will drop one thing like a hot potato if something better comes along – apparently they were not wrong.

Anyways, I liked this book a lot. It was exactly what I needed right now.

You only get one quote because you really might want to read this one for yourself!

“… But then I realized something important: Let them wasn’t about giving in. It was about releasing myself from the control I never had in the first place. Because here’s the truth – no matter how much I tried to analyze the situation or how many ways I could try to control or fix it, nothing I did would change what had happened.” pg. 36

I’d offer to mail you my copy of the book, but I can’t because I’m gonna let my husband read it next!

📚 Happy reading friends!

  1. I loved this book my favorite quote – “All human beings have a hardwired need for control. But the fact is, there is one thing you will never be able to control. No matter how hard you try, you will never be able to control or change another person.”

    1. That’s a good one! I underlined a bunch of quotes, but I didn’t want to give too much away and have people feel like they didn’t need to read the book because I had summarized it for them!
