Point Lobos State Park – Hike

Hike #10 for 2025

This was on my most-desired activity list for our vacation to the Monterey Peninsula in California. It’s one of my absolute favorite places to hike and explore. It’s $10 per vehicle and well worth the price. If you get the chance to visit here, you won’t be disappointed! The parking lot was full when we arrived at about 9:40 am on a Tuesday. We parked on the side of the road and walked into the park for free.

We meandered for about 4 miles through trails along the coastline and through the coastal forest. There were lots of “stairs” and lots of poison oak! Yikes! I was surprised there weren’t more warning signs posted.

Whaler’s Cabin Museum
Cormorants
Do we seriously need a sign to tell people not to pick up the seals? Seriously!?!
Poison Oak
crazy roots on the trail
crazy tangled cypress trees

💙 We hope you get to enjoy a hike with someone you love sometime soon!

  1. Ah, these photos bring back such fun memories for me! My family and I visited Point Lobos just a couple years ago (and we went to that exact whaling cabin!) Monterey was one of our favorite places to visit.
