LEGO Nativity Scene

Earlier this week my 9-year-old son surprised me with this Lego nativity scene.

Here are Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus in a manger. My 5-year-old son added his Lego dump truck bin to make a manger that baby Jesus wouldn’t roll off. There is also a shepherd with a staff, 3 wise men with gifts, a donkey, a cow and calf, and 2 sheep in the scene.

I’m thinking that this impromptu, self-directed project pretty much sums up the true meaning of Christmas for my children at this point in their lives…
