Memory Verse Monday

Hi there everyone! I know that it’s Tuesday today, and this post is a day late. I’ve been having a really tough time the past few days, and I slacked on school yesterday. E and I are feeling like we’d really like to settle down and move into a regular house and start rebuilding a community and our lives. Unfortunately, that is much easier said than done. We weigh out pros and cons about a place, look at real estate, evaluate various options and change our minds a ridiculous amount of times! It’s exhausting!

It’s been 10 months since the Camp Fire destroyed our home and most of the town of Paradise, CA. So, why do I feel like I just evacuated yesterday? How can I possibly feel like I’m stuck in the exact same place I was the day I got confirmation that we’d lost everything? Why doesn’t RVing around the country feel like more fun to me? We can pretty much live anywhere we want to. That should be great news, shouldn’t it? Why does it seem to make everything feel worse?

I don’t know the answers to any of those questions. I just know I’m having a really hard time right now. I miss my old life. I want it back and I can’t have it. I don’t know where to go or what to do. On top of everything, I’m responsible for the lives of three amazing kiddos and I really don’t want them to suffer anymore than they already have. I’d do anything for them. I just wish I knew what to do.

Complaining aside, we really are so blessed and so fortunate. We are in a much better situation than so many Camp Fire survivors. God has given us everything we really need. Sometimes it’s hard to focus on the positive things and count our blessings. Sometimes it’s easy to get sucked into heartache and despair. Sometimes things don’t seem to be going the way we want them to be going. Sometimes it’s really hard to trust God and have faith that everything is going to work out for His glory.

Here is the Bible verse we are working on this week. If you’d like, you can memorize it with us!

We use, A Reason For Handwriting Border Sheets, to practice our best handwriting on the verse of the week. When we’re done with a verse we mail the completed border sheets to friends or family.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Thanks for following everyone! We really appreciate your prayers and support! Y’all are the best!
