Monterey Bay Aquarium – California

We really enjoyed our flexible field trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium yesterday (thanks again to South Sutter Charter School)! Here is our trip in photos:

Moon jellies! Just like in the book, “Night of the Moonjellies”, by Mark Shasha. Too cool! šŸ˜Ž

What was the best part? Why?

S (age 9): “The Sevengill shark. Because it was the closest to the size of a great white shark.”

K (age 6): “The puffins. They are so cute!”

B (almost 5): “The lots of sardines. Because there were lots and lots and lots and lots of sardines!”

  1. Me too! The kiddos are asking to match almost every day. Luckily we had to replace clothing anyways so the timing worked out. I just needed a couple extra things for K. šŸ˜‰

  2. Great pictures! We have many similar photos of the anchovies, kelp forest, the rocky shores, red crabs, etc. One thing I noticed this year was no puffins. Don’t know what happened to that exhibit.
How wonderful that you used the flexible field trip from South Sutter. For a few years, the aquarium hosted a homeschooling day; you reserve tickets for a designated day the aquarium had for homeschoolers. Get in for free and very slow.
    How fun!!
