After visiting Flying Armadillo Disc Golf Course we ate at Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant in San Marcos which was fine but not great. We ate at about 3pm due to a bit of jet lag… we should be on track by the time we head back home. Ha!

For our afternoon adventure, we took an Uber to Zilker Disc Golf Course. The kids played the front 9 holes and I caddied. This course felt like a disc golf course in The Secret Garden.

We wanted to take an Uber back to the hotel because we were all hot and tired and sweaty from 2 rounds of disc golf in Texas humidity. We had the option to upgrade for free to a Waymo driverless car – and we jumped at the chance (with some trepidation)! You can visit their website for more details about the cars: Meet Waymo
It was a very futuristic experience. We even ended up needing to call the support service when our car was stuck behind a minor fender bender and the car directly in front of us had on its hazard lights. The support team got us back on the road in less than 5 minutes and besides that minor hiccup the car drove itself perfectly! We were so excited (and a little nervous) to test out a cutting edge technology and this was one of our top highlights of the trip! On the way to Austin, we crossed two time zones and I told the kids it was like traveling into the future… Turns out that was a pretty good description!

After regrouping at the hotel and searching nearby snack options we headed to JuiceLand to grab a smoothie for “dinner”. We got a clementine smoothie and a wild child smoothie. The clementine was everyone’s favorite, citrusy and refreshing! The vibe of the restaurant was really cool.

Stayed tuned for two more days in Austin, TX… 😁
Oh that Venmo was amazing! Can you book them in advance? The piano is quite an artsy piece. What a fun learning experience for you all.
