My husband had a work conference in Austin, TX and the kiddos and I got to tag along. Our first day there we went to nearby San Marcos to play disc golf at Flying Armadillo Disc Golf Club. This place was really awesome. Each hole on the 18-hole putt-putt course was incredibly unique and creative with a throwing tip in poetry too! Most holes had a beautiful piece of art next to the tee pad. There was also a standard course and my youngest played the first 4 holes. It cost $10 per person to play at both courses all day for ages 12+ and my youngest son was free (he’s 11). Here’s a few favorite photos.

What is disc golf? from: www.pdga.com
“Disc golf is played much like golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, though, players use a flying disc or Frisbee®. The sport was formalized in the 1970s and shares with golf the object of completing each hole in the fewest strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, fewest throws).
A golf disc is thrown from a tee area to a target, which is the “hole.” The hole can be one of a number of disc golf targets; the most common is an elevated metal basket. As a player progresses down the fairway, he or she must make each consecutive throw from the spot where the previous throw landed. The trees, shrubs, and terrain changes located in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the “putt” lands in the basket and the hole is completed.”
That looks like an awesome disc golf course. I am glad you all got to experience it.

This looks like a great disc golf course! I would love to play disc golf, but I am the worst thrower. I need like a nerf gun for foam discs.

😂 I’m not good at throwing either! I liked this course because the holes were closer than standard courses so it didn’t take me as many tries to get close to the hole. I like the disc gun idea, just aim and shoot!
