Hidden Valley Hike

Hike #2 for 2025

This was a co-op led/organized hike. Technically speaking, I’m actually on the hiking committee, but that’s just because the main leader requested some “support”. I still feel pretty new to the area and I’m grateful to have friends who’ve lived here longer and have great ideas for places to hike!

I did not do a good job with photography on this hike. I was chatting, and carrying stuff, and helping a group member who was carrying a baby in a baby backpack.

  • It was sunny, clear and cold – about 45 °F
  • we hiked about a mile,
  • it was a there and back hike in the hills on lose rocks and sand with not much of a marked trail,
  • the kiddos found some pieces of selenite,
  • we tasted fresh pine nuts that we found in the pinecones of pinion pine trees
raw selenite

🥾 Have you been hiking lately?
