Hike #2 for 2025
This was a co-op led/organized hike. Technically speaking, I’m actually on the hiking committee, but that’s just because the main leader requested some “support”. I still feel pretty new to the area and I’m grateful to have friends who’ve lived here longer and have great ideas for places to hike!

I did not do a good job with photography on this hike. I was chatting, and carrying stuff, and helping a group member who was carrying a baby in a baby backpack.
- It was sunny, clear and cold – about 45 °F
- we hiked about a mile,
- it was a there and back hike in the hills on lose rocks and sand with not much of a marked trail,
- the kiddos found some pieces of selenite,
- we tasted fresh pine nuts that we found in the pinecones of pinion pine trees

🥾 Have you been hiking lately?
Always ready for a hike! We went up to see if the POA trails in Magalia still existed…and they did and we made it to ‘lil falls. Kids had a great time so it worked out well.

Kids have grown!
That’s a fun hike to try pine nuts and find a Selenite. Even if I saw one, I wouldn’t know. That’s a great hike. We haven’t hiked in a while, but we should get to it soon.

You are very nice to help plan the hikes and help people along the way. Great job!
