Clio’s Rivers Edge RV Park – California

This RV Park was recommended to us by friends and it was our first time here. Honestly, I wasn’t in the mood to go camping this weekend. We booked the trip back around January (because that’s how far in advance one must book camping sites) and then lots of stuff came up and presently I find myself not in the mood for cleaning and packing and prepping the trailer. Plus it’s too hot! 🥵

The kids are excited though, so I’m going to need a major attitude adjustment! 😒

We reserved site #13 with a lovely view of the river from the picnic table.

We saw river otter, a little weasel, and everyone else saw a beaver but I missed it. None of our furry friends were in the mood for a photograph. We also saw a few bats.

Fun fact: I didn’t think I had ever seen a bat, until I was an adult and someone told me that what my dad had always told me and my sister were “night birds” were actually bats! 😂

Big dandelion = Big wish

(I wish the train didn’t go right past this RV Park blasting its whistle at midnight and 6 am every day!)

No wood campfires allowed – but this propane version was ok 👍

We met a retired firefighter who had worked the Paradise Camp Fire 2018 and we got to personally tell him a sincere and heartfelt “Thank You”. This act always makes me tear up pretty hard and swallow a large lump in my throat. But it’s a blessing to be able to look someone in the eye and tell them how much we appreciate what they did. We lost our house and my parents lost their house but we are deeply grateful for the first responders who went in to save other people’s lives when everyone else was going out to save their own lives.

We ❤️ first responders!

  1. It looks like a lovely park, and you got a great spot with a view of the river. I am sure your comments to the firefighter meant a great deal to him. I hope you and the kids enjoyed the camping trip.
