Avocado Naan Recipe

My husband and I are kind of obsessed with this super-easy, semi-healthy snack/meal lately. It’s a lunchtime staple because it’s so quick, filling and luxurious. It make me feel like I’m getting something from a posh little cafe when we’re in between reducing fractions and reading aloud. It’s inspired by a dish we often order at one of our fave restaurants, Tea Bar & Fusion Cafe. I just had to show y’all how we make the most delicious fusion food ever!

Ingredients:

  • Naan (we buy ours at Costco)
  • olive oil
  • 1/2 of a ripe Avocado for each piece of Naan
  • Lawrey’s garlic salt with parsley
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Fun Fact: avocados do not ripen on the tree. The fruit begins to ripen only after it has been picked. If you’re not sure how to tell if an avocado is ripe here’s a link to a website with a detailed explanation: https://loveonetoday.com/how-to/pick-buy-fresh-avocados

Directions:

Brush the Naan with olive oil and toast in the oven on a silicone mat lined baking sheet at 350° Fahrenheit for about 5-10 minutes.

While the Naan is toasting, cut the avocado in half and remove the seed. Once the Naan is toasted to the desired toasty-ness, scoop out the avocado fruit with a spoon.

Next mash the avocado on the Naan evenly with a fork.

Finally, sprinkle the garlic salt and fresh ground pepper on top. Enjoy avo bliss!

      1. I can eat sweet potatoes all day, if I could. My way of preparing them are super easy. I microwave them in a bowl filled with about a half cup of water for 6 minutes. I also air fry them for 20 minutes, which makes the texture softer.
I also cut them into fries and air fry them tossed with olive oil, paprika, and salt. My kids run the other way with sweet potatoes. They’ll come around one day…lol
