We took the summer off from most of our schoolwork (except to catch up on math & spelling). Now that we’re back-to-homeschool we have reinstated our weekly Bible verse for memorization. This week we are learning:
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
Luke 2:52
I like to start the school year with this verse because it reminds me that Jesus learned at home with His family too. It reminds me that Jesus grew up with a balanced education that included mental components (wisdom), physical components (stature), spiritual components (favor with God), and social components (favor with man). I hope that reminding myself of this verse will help get us off on the right start for the year.
Just like last year, we’re using A Reason For Handwriting Border Sheets, to practice our best handwriting on the verse of the week. When we’re done with a verse we mail the completed border sheets to friends or family.
