Harold and the Purple Crayon – Five in a Row Christmas Ornament

I decided to remake an ornament that I had created in 2016 when I participated in a Five in a Row ornament swap.

I bought 3 x 3 wooden squares from Michael’s and painted them white. I used acrylic paint and a brush but I would recommend spray paint if I was making more than 3 or so.

Next, I printed a little picture of Harold from the book, cut it out and used Modge Podge to stick it to the wooden square.

Then I used a purple permanent marker to draw a moon and window like the ones in the story and sprayed the whole thing with a clear matte sealer.

I had E drill holes in the top center of each wooden square. Then I used tacky glue to adhere a purple crayon to the ornaments. Lastly, I tied a piece of purple ribbon through the hole for hanging it on the tree next year. It turned out similar to the one I made in 2016 but it’s not exactly the same.
