Day #2 was another slow/easy/late start and we headed to the hotel pool since it was drizzly outside.

After about an hour and a half in the pool we headed back to the rooms to shower, change, and eat snacks for lunch.
I looked out the room window and saw the resident family of elk.

We watched the elk until they wandered out of view. We went to check out the climbing gym, but I ultimately vetoed that because I thought it would be too hard on my youngest sonās knee. We had about 45 min of downtime to rest and watch a bit of a movie before heading to our afternoon activity at Bowl Valley for 2 games of Canadian 5-pin bowling.
I called the taxi company on my phone to request a pick-up and ride to Bowl Valley 5-Pin & Pints – Fairmount Banff Springs. I really prefer Uber/Lyft to a traditional taxi service. I kept unintentionally irritating the taxi people because I wasnāt giving them the information they wanted in the correct order fast enough. Where we are, how many people, where we are going, seems to be what they wanted in quick succession with no pleasantries but it took me two phone calls to figure that out. Anyways we arrived 30 minutes before our lane reservation, the doors were locked, and it was raining. So we headed over to the main entrance of Fairmount Banff Springs.

After wandering around the spectacular and gorgeous castle/hotel for a while we made our way to the 5-pin bowling through elegant corridors and up and down winding staircases. Canadian 5-pin bowling has 5 pins to knock down instead of 10. The center pin is worth 5 points, the next two pins are worth 3 points each and the back two pins are worth 2 points each. You get to throw 3 balls on each turn. The balls are smaller, there are no finger holes in them, and theyāre all the same weight. The pins are attached to strings which pull them up to reset them. We had so much fun playing this Canadian game!

My daughter slayed the first game with a 134, and I won the second game with a 125.
After we finished two games of 5-pin bowling, we met up with my husband at Maclab again for dinner and then we all went back to the hotel room and watched Toy Story 4. We had a wonderful time enjoying indoor activities on this rainy day in Banff!
