Blocks of the Month – Farm Girl Vintage – March/April 2026

The following quilt block patterns are from Farm Girl Vintage by Lori Holt.

I had chosen Baking Day on page 13 for March. But I didn’t finish it until last week, and I forgot whose turn it was to choose, and I chose Egg Basket on page 24 for April. Oops! My mom gets to pick the next two! Ha!

I used the inner waistband from my ruined shorts for the stripe in the large bowl for Baking Day

I messed up the block… I’m a beginner… I made a mistake and tried to keep going with it and that led to another mistake… alas, failure is how we sometimes learn… I don’t think this block will end up in my finished quilt.
Well… That is the way that the trim is supposed to look on the top of the basket, but for some reason, the bottom two pieces of the basket didn’t line up quite right… 🤷🏻‍♀️

  1. I can’t find this book for a reasonable price yet. 🥲😂♥️ I may try to set up my sewing machine this summer and use the library copy?, but with a wedding and remodeling, it may not be my “return to quilting “ season! 🤪 These are beautiful, Jen!!

    1. I’ll keep an eye out for it when I go thrifting… 🤞 But yes, I can barely manage a block a month without a wedding or a remodel! ❤️
      Thank you! Honestly, I feel like they never turn out quite the way I envisioned them. But I’m a newbie – I have lots to learn!
