I had two activities planned to celebrate Earth Day this year: pudding “dirt” cups and a 3D model of the Earth’s layers.
We always make pudding “dirt” cups on Earth day. Just chocolate pudding, crushed up Oreos and gummy worms.

I’ve been meaning to make this 3D model of the earth’s layers for literally years! My tween/teens are technically “too old” for this project but I didn’t tell them that. Modeling with clay is fun even as an adult, and we haven’t done anything with clay in ages so they were all having a great time with the project. My younger two (6th grade & 8th grade) spent extra time modeling other things after they finished their earths.

This picture book is perfect for the layers of the earth model. This is a really cool book!

My daughter (age 13) also made marble matcha sugar cookies but the website where we got the recipe no longer exists. Instead of matcha and white dough she used matcha and blue dough to make earth cookies.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Cute and fun ideas! You are so creative AND you know how to find creative things to do. One time my sister-in-law made that “dirt” and put it in a clean clay pot. Then stuck a fake plant it and it looked real. Then at the party she had her son reach in, pull out a worm, and eat it. It all looked so real and made everyone gasp! HAHA
