The Blanton Museum of Art – Austin, TX

After visiting the Texas Capitol we continued walking to The Blanton Museum of Art. Admission tickets are free on Tuesday so I had already printed tickets to take advantage of that deal. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

I really enjoyed seeing how much my oldest son enjoyed this piece made from reclaimed automobile lights
this was made with plastic hair combs
this was made from the metal tags on liquor bottles
we took a modern mirror photo in this very very old mirror

After the museum we ate lunch at Texas Chili Parlor. The venison chili was the best thing we ordered and was really tasty. The vegetarian chili was nothing to write home about. The menu included the history of chili which was interesting.

We meandered back around the Texas Capitol and Capitol Grounds before heading back to the hotel for some R&R.

And some more smoothies from JuiceLand.

Stay tuned for our last day’s adventures in Austin, TX…

    1. Thanks Sheree!
My name is actually Jen. Ha! My mom is Betty and I named the blog after her. I usually don’t bother correcting people but you’ve been following and leaving lovely comments for a while so I thought I’d better tell you my real name! 😁

  1. Your pictures are so great and fun. Wow to the art there. I will have to go there next time we are in the area. And now…excuse me as I add homemade chili to my menu, as you made me hungry for it. HAHA
