Strawberry šŸ“ Schilling Summer School

Thanks to everyone who voted for their favorite summer school incentive currency in Summer Homeschooling 2023, you can read about our summer plans there.

ā€œStrawberry Schillingsā€ was the winner of the vote and the children are mostly excited about earning strawberry schillings to ā€œpurchaseā€ items, treats, video game time, etc!

I found these adorable Strawberry Wooden Beads (feature photo) to use as strawberry schillings and provided a repurposed glass Oui yogurt jar for each child for faux currency storage. Iā€™m quite pleased with how these look!

My top priorities for summer schoool are completing our math lessons with Teaching Textbooks and finishing up my oldestā€™s language arts lessons with The Good and the Beautiful.

Hereā€™s our system with redacted names of minors.

Hereā€™s our summer school store loaded with new books, a few games, and Hot Wheels cars.

I got some cute strawberry themed stationary items, because new Scented Pencils and Scented Stickers canā€™t hurt motivation levels!

At the last minute I decided to set up an ice cream family summer reading program. Each time anyone (including dad and mom) finishes a book they get to add a paper scoop of ice cream to the cone. When we get five scoops on the cone, we get to have ice cream! šŸ¦
