We’re currently finishing up the “American Girl: Molly” series set during WWII for history. We were excited to visit the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa for a field trip while we were visiting Boise (November 2021) to bring our unit study to life.
There was so much to see in this museum. Huge planes, military uniforms, photographs, memorabilia, and more. It would’ve taken hours to look at everything. The kiddos each got a scavenger hunt which they really enjoyed.

… and I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men [and women] who died that gave that right to me… – Lee Greenwood “God Bless the USA” 🇺🇸
Looks like a very interesting museum, and a scavenger hunt is a great way to engage the kiddos. Those dental tools look scary! My dad was in the air force in WWII.

Very nice! Love scavenger hunts 🙂 And Molly! I always remember her for the mom…or aunt…putting butter and brown sugar I think on the sweet potato or squash when she didn’t want to eat it…it’s been a long time 🙂

Yes! The mom did that. Molly sat at the table for an hour after dinner because she wouldn’t eat the turnips that Mrs. Gifford (the housekeeper/nanny) made. When the mom got home from work, she heated up the mashed veggie and added sugar and butter. Such a good mom!

My husband is a big WWII buff; he would love this museum! On another note, it appears that dental tools haven’t changed much over the years.😬
