This week we rowed “Mike Mulligan and HIs Steam Shovel” we planned to read it the same week as Groundhog Day. Did you know that a groundhog can dig up to 700 lbs of dirt in just one day! We had planned to take a field trip to our local Waste & Recycling Center but we got rained out (more on that later). I guess it’s 6 more weeks of winter for us! Here are our favorite groundhog books that we found at the library:

I made the kids felt groundhog finger puppets and then they helped me make “grassy” green felt covered cardboard tube burrows.
