Regular readers may recall that I recently quit my coffee habit. I had gotten a terrible case of the flu and then decided to just not have coffee afterwards since I’d already made it past the first few days of detox which are always the hardest. I’ve quit coffee 3 times before (each time I was pregnant & while nursing) but it’s easy to pick it back up again on a day when you’re feeling extra tired. Coffee really does wake you up, especially if you haven’t had it in a while. Unfortunately, I have found that dependency comes on pretty quickly. Then I need the coffee to wake up on the morning.
Anyways, I’m off coffee. So far – so good, it’s been about a month and I’ve gotten a chai latte as a fantastic substitute when I’ve gone out to a cute coffee shop 2 times. A few afternoons when I’ve been extra sluggish, I enjoyed a cup of lycee and lime green tea which has some caffeine, but not nearly as much as coffee and it’s definitely not as addictive.
My last hurdle was the early Sabbaths when my husband works the AV system at church and I take the kiddos to breakfast. I usually get a mocha and this place makes Such a Great mocha!!!
Luckily, it’s a “healthy restaurant” and they’ve got a list of 6 “superfood beverages”. I’ve decided to try a different one each visit until I’ve tried them all. First up on the list was the mushroom blend. I got it with coconut milk. The coconut flavor was pretty overpowering and that’s really all I could taste in it. I’ll get the next drink with regular milk.

Hope y’all have a great weekend!

Sometimes, I don’t think it’s worth the trouble! 😂

I love a good chai latte. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to try a mushroom blend beverage.😬
