If There’s Nowhere To Sit – You Have Too Many

I’m no longer young, but like “a young homeowner turning into their parents”, I seem to have developed an unhealthy obsession with throw pillows. Although, to be fair, I don’t remember my parents ever having more than one or two throw pillows, and those ones had come with the piece of furniture they had purchased.

Then again… my mom is quite crafty and she’s been known to make seasonal decor as gifts which only add to the collection!

A recent trip to Marshall’s was a close call when a variety of mushroom themed and coordinating pillows were discovered. Luckily, I was able to get them out of my shopping cart and back on the shelf. Whew – that was a close one!

My favorite pillows are almost always on display.

Even my husband’s home office has been targeted, and now has a delightfully funny new throw pillow!

In my defense, throw pillows are an easy way to update the main living space or create a fun seasonal vibe without much effort. My kiddos actually love our pillow collection, and enjoy helping me switch out the seasonal ones. I was recently repeatedly reminded that, “it’s fall, we need to get out the football pillow!”

🛋️ How many throw pillows are currently on your couch?

    1. Good luck finding a suitable replacement! Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, and Ross sell throw pillows that are good quality for reasonable prices. My biggest problem is the color of our couch and loveseat. My husband loves the color but it’s not my favorite – and it’s tricky to match!

  1. I love your current obsession! And pillows are comfy and add color and texture to a living space. Marshalls is a dangerous place to walk around with a cart.
Today, Ellis and I went to a thrift shop and she got a Berenstain bears t-shirt for $6. I couldn’t pass it up although Ellis was on the fence about it at first. Come on, it’s Berenstain Bears! lol

  2. Throw pillows and afghan/blanket/quilts are fun ways to change out decor for the season. I think that is very fun! Your mom’s work shows her talent. I don’t think I have seen “mushroom themed” decorations. 🙂

    1. I hadn’t seen mushroom themed decorations either, which is why it was such a close call and I almost bought three or four of them. Especially since they were all different and yet coordinated so lovely. 🍄
