I Love…

Here is the poem that inspired this post by Mary at NaPoWriMo #14 Here is a list of the things… I love
Mary is a talented poet and I enjoy the poems she posts on her blog. I especially enjoyed her list of things she loves, so I copied her idea and wrote my own list. I sincerely hope she finds this the highest form of flattery!

Here’s mine:

I love it when books that I bought used have handwritten inscriptions to people I don’t know in the front cover
I love the aroma of sautéed onions and mushrooms and garlic
I love stained glass windows
I love library summer reading programs
I love collecting things

I love watching television sitcoms and good movies based on true events
I love to see an empty sink in my kitchen
I love audiobooks read by famous actors
I love rays of sunshine streaming through clouds
I love to hear coyotes howl at night

I love that our chickens lay blue eggs
I love Orion – the only constellation that I can find easily
I love my vintage yellow Pyrex bowl
I love boat rides
I love the mist from waterfalls tickling my nose

I love seeing snow-capped mountains in the distance
I love really really really hot showers
I love custom homes built in the 1970s
I love fruit-scented pencils, pens, stickers, and erasers
I love stuff that glows in the dark and stuff that changes color depending on the temperature

I love hearing ESL speakers use a technically correct word, but one that native English speakers don’t actually use that way
I love gargoyles
I love those chewy fruit snacks that are meant for children’s lunch boxes
I love bracelets with round stone beads
I love my snakeskin-print canvas low-top Converse sneakers & my Sherpa-lined Minnetonka moccasin slippers

I love that no matter what happens today, we get to start a new day tomorrow morning!

  1. I loved this!! A fabulous way to learn more about you. And you’re great! I love collecting things and smelling the fragrance of sauteed onions, mushrooms, and garlic.
By the way, I felt so happy yesterday when I found a Willow Tree ornament in its original box for $3.99 at Salvation Army. I was jazzed!
