Book Character Day – Homeschool Spirit Week

This was our favorite dress up day and we went all out! We found some great costumes and costume pieces at Goodwill.

King Peter
from “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”
by C.S. Lewis
Mary Poppins
from “Mary Poppins” by P.L. Travers
(haven’t read this one yet but it’s in my queue)
Calvin
from “Calvin and Hobbes” by Bill Watterson

We tried yellow hair chalk, but it didn’t work at all. He edited the photo with my iPhone to make his hair yellow. 😂

Fun fact: we have a collection of 17 “Calvin and Hobbes” books.

Stanley Yelnats IV
from “Holes” by Louis Sacher
Aouda
from “Around the World in 80 Days”
by Jules Verne

Only one more day of Homeschool Spirit Week left to go!

Happy reading friends!

  1. Quite impressive! That Mary Poppins costume is really amazing! It looks perfect! You found that at Goodwill? I remember watching the movie, “Saving Mr. Banks” – about the making of the Mary Poppins movie. I can’t remember the details, but I remember liking the movie. You really put zest in all you do! That’s a good way to live!

    1. Just good timing at Goodwill. They had all their Halloween costumes out and I don’t think people were thinking about Halloween just yet. Everything was super clean and really well organized and there were some really nice things. The Mary Poppins costume was brand new in packaging!!!

      1. You did so good with your shopping!! Your Goodwill has awesome finds and the Mary Poppins costume is too cute. Wow, can’t believe it was new. I’m not so lucky with the Goodwill stores here, but maybe I need to check some out soon.
