Before the California wildfires went from bad to really really bad, we are so grateful that we were able to visit Crescent City and explore some of the State and National Parks’ Redwood Forests. These forest are absolutely incredible. There just aren’t enough words.
Did you know that there have been multiple Bigfoot or Sasquatch sightings in this area?
I’ll tell you this for a fact, if Bigfoot/Sasquatch does exist, they most definitely live in these forests. We kept a sharp lookout, but we were really too close to roads and civilization to expect to actually see one.
Redwood trees are absolutely massive. Like so big you guys!
After wandering around these amazing Redwoods the trail pops out onto a rocky beach along the crystal-clear Smith River. It’s like something out of LOTR.
Be still my beating heart! I am just head-over-heels in love with this place. I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated over the fires in CA, OR and WA. The Pacific Northwest is hands-down one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Every time I see a piece of ash falling from the sky or lying on my car hood, I can’t help but think it’s a piece of someone’s baby photos or wedding dress or love letters. My heart breaks for everyone who has been forced to evacuate or lost their homes. There are no words. 💔
Thank you for the happy pictures with blue sky! Hope you are able to escape the smoke…I expect you’ll have to go farther than you had planned to get out.

Boise is in a cloud of “unhealthy AQI” smoke too… not far enough East!

Beautiful pictures. I am surprised the AQI is bad in Boise. But, I’m glad you were able to get away from the fires.

Crescent City area is beautiful. Too bad there is now a wildfire close to the area you so wonderfully photographed. I am so glad your family got to enjoy the redwoods when there was no fire/smoke in the area.

So sorry you still have trauma on the fires, but I completely could understand why. Prayers for you and everyone dealing with such a tragedy.
